Welcome to matthewfrench.net

My name is Dr Matt French. In 2009 I completed a PhD in the correlated electron systems group at the H. H. Wills Physics Laboratory at the University of Bristol. My research focused on performing experiments to study the properties of metals at very low temperatures mostly at Florida State University and University of Nijmegen.

I qualified as a secondary school teacher at Imperial College in London and after teaching at an independent school in Bristol I become Head of Physics at an independent school in Bath in 2013 and then timetabler in 2016. In 2018 I moved to Poole, Dorset where I continue to teach Physics and work on other projects. I am an experienced GCSE & A Level exam marker and principal examiner for an A Level paper.

I provide model solutions and explanations for the Oxford University PAT, Skype tuition to students, training courses to schools and school timetabling.
